Student playing violin

Music education is an important part of a child's development spiritually, physically, emotionally and academically. Every elementary student participates in two concerts per year celebrating Christmas and Spring. Each class presents two talent shows per year for their peers. Students in fourth through sixth grade participate in our elementary band. The scope of the music curriculum covers elemental theory, vocal technique, two and three part singing, sound production on melody instruments and rhythm instruments, folk dancing, music history including composers from each time period and their works, musicology, celebration of Biblical Feasts, team building and music technology all in the context of using this unique gift to bless and edify others as we honor and glorify the Lord.

In Junior High, students continue with choral music and band becomes an elective. In Senior High, Worship Arts, Music Composition, band and choir are part of our fine arts elective offerings. The choir curriculum incorporates ongoing instruction in vocal technique in various styles of music spanning several time periods of music history. Band curriculum has an emphasis on building technical skill and accuracy as well as strength and endurance.
