Throughout the year, a variety of events are designed to provide fun, bonding, social experiences for our junior high and high school students.
For high school students, we have intentionally chosen to offer students the opportunity to attend events that range from casual to semiformal to formal, allowing students to navigate life with the necessary skills and etiquette needed for these types of events. Students are welcome to attend events with a date, as individuals, or as part of a group. The following are a sampling of key annual high school social events.
Sadies is a casual social event for students in grades 9-12. Held in the fall, this event helps students to make connections early in the school year. This event is coordinated by the senior class with the help of the senior class advisor and parent volunteers.
Homecoming is a semi-formal social event for students in grades 9-12. This winter event takes place on a Saturday night during the basketball season coinciding with the winter Spirit Week and Alumni Night basketball game. Student Council coordinates this event under the guidance of the Student Council Advisor.
Banquet is a formal social event for students in grades 9-12. The junior class plans and implements this spring event as a send-off to honor the senior class. The event includes dinner and an activity. Some past venues have included Pinstripes, the Minnesota Arboretum, the St. Paul College Club, and a dinner cruise on the St. Croix River.
