The goal of Bethany Academy’s financial aid program is to increase accessibility to private Christian education for more families within the local community. The program provides financial assistance to families with demonstrated financial need. Bethany believes that parents should bear responsibility for a portion of the costs of their students’ education, and therefore, Bethany does not provide full scholarships to students. Over the past several years, financial aid awards have averaged approximately 40% of tuition.
Bethany Academy utilizes an outside service for processing financial aid applications called School and Student Services (SSS) by the National Association of Independent Schools. This organization provides Bethany with an objective means of evaluating financial need. SSS calculates an estimated amount that families can contribute to their students’ education. A family’s need is then calculated based on tuition costs and the estimated family contribution. Due to limited funds and an increasing number of families requiring financial assistance, only a portion of demonstrated need may be met.
