There are several components to consider when implementing a higher level of academic distinction for our students at Bethany Academy.   One is the use of standardized testing.

The testing we utilize is called is called:
MAP testing (Measures of Academic Progress).  This computerized test is adaptive in nature; the test adapts, question by question, as students proceed.  At the end of the testing sequence, the student receives an overall score that indicates their instructional level. Test results match student performance, not grade level.

This method of testing allows us a beginning year bench mark, mid year progress, and final measure of academic growth for each student in grades K-9 for math, reading, and language proficiencies. This feedback gives teachers the opportunity to modify their instruction to each student’s strengths and challenges as they progress through the year.

Northwest Education Association, NWEA, created this assessment which allows for individual student growth to be measured and information about instruction to be gained. Minnesota is the leader in implementing this testing process. We are so excited for this opportunity to serve our students at Bethany Academy.

Testing:

K-9 grade- MAP testing 3 times per year.

8th grade- EXPLORE Test- a PLAN preparatory exam

Sophomores- PLAN Test- an ACT preparatory exam

Sophomores and Juniors- PSAT

Juniors and Seniors - ACT/SAT
