The National Honor Society was started in 1921. Its goal was to recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other qualities essential to citizens in a democracy. The four main ideals of the society are scholarship, character, service, and leadership.

Juniors and Seniors who meet these criteria and the criteria set by Bethany Academy are asked to be a part of our chapter. Our students organized an all school fund raiser for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, and have volunteered at a variety of places such as Feed My Starving Children, Operation Christmas Child, and New Life Family Services. In the midst of serving others we do find time to have fun with one another as well.
